One of the largest 40 footers we have been aboard, NUTSHELL, with its 47 feet overall and 40 feet on deck, has a fantastic interior and on-deck spaces with a massive amount of storage. It feels more like a 47-foot boat. Designed by Mark Ellis in the classic style of his Nonsuch, Niagara, and Bruckmann designs, NUTSHELL is a fast, practical, and comfortable cruiser. Its construction by the Tania boatyard displays high standards, and its interior joinery reflects its pedigree and overall quality. Only five of these hulls were built, and this is number five, the only one with a cutter rig, while the other four hulls have cat-ketch rigs. NUTSHELL is both sleek and roomy, a rare combination. Its spacious two-cabin layout comfortably accommodates two couples for extended cruising, with additional sea berths in the main salon. Each cabin has a separate head with a separate shower compartment accessible from the aft head and the main salon. On deck, the large, comfortable cockpit and simple sail handling systems with electric primary and main halyard winches make boat handling a breeze. Equipped with SeaFrost refrigeration, Espar diesel heater, removable dinghy davits, 2000 watt inverter, electric and engine hot water system, stack-pack main, and roller furling genoa, and an amazing custom swim platform, NUTSHELL is ready to comfortably and safely set sail for destinations near or far.
