Launched in 1983, the Gilmer Single Diesel Trawler 5 is a popular boat model for those interested in cruising on bays. Primrose, a 30′ Custom Tom Gilmer design, is a sailboat with a full displacement hull that provides comfort even in heavy seas. It was built in ’83-’84 by Vineyard Haven Shipyard. The Airex cored hull was constructed using a male mold, and the superstructure is made of fiberglass and resin-covered marine plywood. This boat has received many compliments for its attractive design. It comes with additional specs, equipment, and information.

The boat has a fuel type of diesel and a hull material of fiberglass. It is powered by a single Westerbeke engine with 58 HP, and it has a total of 3700 engine hours. The fuel tank has a capacity of 50 gallons, the water tank can hold 70 gallons, and the holding tank capacity is 52 gallons.

Accommodations on board include a Horizon AM/FM stereo with 4 Bose speakers, a TV with a mast-mounted Glomex antenna, and a VacuFlush sanitation system. The galley features an Origo alcohol 2-burner stove, large well-insulated iceboxes, a sink with pressure hot and cold water, and more.

Electronic equipment includes two Navico/Simrad WP5000 autopilots, a Garmin GPS76, an Interphase probe forward scan sonar, a Koden 3404 radar, an Icom VHF radio, and Raytheon and H/H compasses.

The boat is equipped with two 6V house batteries (from 2010) and a grp 31 engine start battery (from 2009), along with an automatic battery charger and a 30 amp shorepower connection. It also comes with a 30′ shorepower cord.

Additional features include various anchors, a Dyer dinghy, a winter cover, Racor fuel filters, and spare parts such as a starter, alternator, and water pumps. The boat’s owner comments on their positive experience with the boat.
